Terms & Conditions
Last updated:
These Terms & Conditions govern the use of controlledchaos.pt and the purchase of Controlled Chaos services, provided by Rafael António Jacinto dos Reis (“Controlled Chaos”, “we”). By using the site or purchasing a service, you accept these terms. You can contact us at rafael.jacinto.reis@gmail.com.
1. Services
Controlled Chaos provides individual coaching (1:1 Coaching), workshops (such as Lead in Chaos) and training for companies.
The specific terms of each service, such as price, duration, dates and format, are set out on the service page, at sign-up or in the proposal sent to you. If they conflict with these terms, the specific terms prevail.
2. What coaching is, and what it isn’t
Coaching is a personal and professional development process based on conversation and reflection. It is not therapy, psychotherapy or medical, psychological, legal, financial or tax advice, and it does not replace those services. If you need support in any of these areas, you should seek a qualified professional.
The decisions you make during and after the process, and their consequences, are your responsibility. We work with care and commitment, but we do not guarantee specific results, as these depend on factors outside our control.
3. Bookings, rescheduling and no-shows
Sessions are booked through the online calendar (Calendly) or by direct agreement.
You can reschedule or cancel a session free of charge up to 24 hours before the scheduled time. Later cancellations or no-shows without notice may be counted as a session held.
If we need to cancel or reschedule a session, we will let you know as early as possible and offer a new date, at no cost to you.
4. Workshop sign-ups and payments
A workshop place is only confirmed once payment is made, unless stated otherwise.
If you cancel up to 7 days before the workshop date, you are entitled to a full refund. After that, you can transfer your place to someone else or to a later edition, but no refund is given.
If we cancel or postpone a workshop, you can choose between a full refund or a place on a new date.
Prices include applicable taxes, unless stated otherwise.
5. Confidentiality
Everything you share in coaching sessions is treated as confidential, in line with the International Coaching Federation (ICF) Code of Ethics. We may only break this confidentiality when required by law or when there is a serious risk to your safety or that of others.
In group workshops, we ask all participants to respect the confidentiality of what others share.
6. Intellectual property
The texts, images, illustrations, logos, methods, training materials and templates provided on the site or in the services belong to Controlled Chaos or are used with permission, and are protected by copyright and industrial property rights.
You may use them for personal use, or internal use within the service you contracted. You may not copy, resell, distribute or use them for commercial purposes without written permission.
7. Site content
The content on this site, including Journal articles, is for information only and does not constitute professional advice. We do our best to keep it accurate and up to date, but we cannot guarantee it is free of errors.
The site may link to third-party sites (such as Calendly, LinkedIn or Instagram), whose content and policies we do not control.
8. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Controlled Chaos is not liable for indirect damages, loss of profits or losses resulting from decisions made on the basis of the services or the site content. In any case, our total liability for a service is limited to the amount paid for that service.
These limitations do not apply in cases of wilful misconduct or gross negligence, nor do they affect the rights that the law grants to consumers.
9. Complaints and dispute resolution
You can send any complaint to rafael.jacinto.reis@gmail.com.
In the event of a consumer dispute, you may turn to an alternative dispute resolution body, such as CNIACC – Centro Nacional de Informação e Arbitragem de Conflitos de Consumo (cniacc.pt). More information at consumidor.gov.pt.
10. Changes
We may update these terms at any time. The version in force is always the one published on this page, with the date of the last update. Changes do not affect services already contracted.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by Portuguese law. This is a translation for convenience; in case of any discrepancy, the Portuguese version prevails.
